Post Hello from GaryM!
on: January 11, 2012, 20:48

I expect to be taking up a job in Shijiazhuang some time early this year (2012, March at the latest). I will be working as a manager in a technology company. I speak no Chinese! This could be interesting.I am English but I lived in Japan for some years.I am expecting it to be difficult initially, and I really appreciate this forum. Thanks to everyone who makes the effort to help out us newbies!

Thankyou for the welcome. I am due to get my Visa tomorrow, I feel quite excited and apprehensive at the same time. I decided to learn as many chinese characters as I can before I go, with a view to taking lessons once I get there. Looking forward to it.

Hi Lucy, and Ella, thank you for your kind comments. At the moment I am still in England. I have had to do some work before I leave, and it is taking longer than I thought. Hopefully, I will finish things here in a few weeks. I am looking forward to going to Shijuazhuang very much. Thanks again.

Hello Gary. I'm happy to read your reply.
Are you processing your working visa?
It takes a lot of time because china policy states that
you must go home to your home country and applied
for china working visa at chinese embassy in your home country.
Good luck to you and we welcome you here in Shijiazhuang.
Shijiazhuang is the best place to start a new life in China
because chinese people living here are compassionate and friendly.
After you gained working experience in this city, you can transfer
to another city and you are ready to face all chinese people.
Have a nice day!
