Do you have kids?
Here is some useful information.
- Chinese people love foreign kids. If your baby makes a lot of noise, they truly understand. Don’t worry.
- Although it’s difficult to find many of the same products that you may be use to in China, www.taoboa.com is a great resource. You can find diapers and have them delivered to your door, buy foreign export toys in China for less than you’d find in the local Chinese stores - the foreign toys often have slight defects, which is why they are allowed to be resold in China. And you can even some foreign baby clothes like onesiezs/baby-grows for about 1o RMB each. http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=5655637933. I recommend using Google Translate to see the page in English.
- Get a good stroller/buggy before you come to China. They are better made (export quality), cheaper and will hold up longer.
- Get creative! Think about activities to do like: making playdough, storie times, nature walks, etc.
- Check out the Shijiazhuang zoo.
- Get to know Chinese kids / babies and play together.
- Explore SJZ together
- Check out some local outdoor pools in the summer. I’ve found one and it’s perfect for little people.
- There are some indoor play places. You have to pay a small fee and then your kids can play. It’s a good option for days that are either too cold or hot outside. My personal favorite is at the Wonder Mall in Shijiazhuang on the 4th floor. It’s good for babies and kids up to perhaps age 6. It’s clean and new.
- There are outdoor playgrounds in many parks. You have to pay a fee to get in and use it, but it’s worth it.
I’d love your ideas and suggestions, so please give them to me.
